BÖIKZMÖIND is a 30 minute documentary film about riding fixed gear bikes in beautiful Bristol. The film shows the diverse cross section of riders and asks why ride bikes with no gears in a city full of hills. It also shines a light on the community and camaraderie that comes with the simple joy of riding bicycles.

This is an small excerpt from the finished film, which is now screening all over the world (boikzmoind.com/#screenings). If there’s not a screening near you then get in touch, more than happy for the film to be seen all over the world!

The DVD version which will be accompanied by a photo book is in the works right now, and you can sign up to register your interest here: boikzmoind.com/#preorder

The music is ‘Backwell’ by Beak>. All the music in the film is curated by Redg Weeks of Invada Records (invada.co.uk). Invada Records is the Bristol-based label set-up by Portishead’s Geoff Barrow in 2003, serving as a home for a diverse roster of artists from Thought Forms to Gonga.

We’re heading back to sunny Leicester for a week toady, part holiday, part looking after my Mum’s house while she is actually on Holiday.  I’ve got a few films that I plan on shooting and editing while I’m back, and so it’s necessary of course to pack some kit for such a task.  This is what I shall be taking with me.
15” MacBook Pro
JVC Everio HD5
JAG35E DOF adapter
Canon 50mm f1.8 Lens
Hoodman HD300 LCD screen cover
Nikon D40 DSLR
Nikkor 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 Lens
WD external HD 250GB
WD external HD 320GB
Audio Technica ATR25 Stereo Shotgun Mic (Yoga EM288 pictured)
Velbon DV-7000 Tripod

I’m hoping to get a nice mix of projects while I’m away, providing the weather holds out, which knowing Leicestershire, it won’t.  I’m planning on editing each piece the day it’s shot where possible, so I will post the finished results here.
